The Drowning River is a left tributary of the Kenogami River in the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Drowning River has its origin 10 km east of Nakina in Upper Twin Lake . It drains this to the neighboring Lower Twin Lake . It continues its course east-northeast through the Canadian Shield . The Lagarde River is a major tributary from the right. The Drowning River flows into the Kenogami River about 5 km south of the mouth of the Little Current River . The Drowning River has a length of about 280 km. There are several rapids along the river. The river is known for its brook trout .
