The Miminiska Lake is a lake on the border of Thunder Bay and Kenora District in the north of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The lake is located on the upper reaches of the Albany River , which flows through it from west to east. The lake is located at the height of 301 m in the area of the Canadian Shield . In the center of Miminiska Lake is the large Miminiska Peninsula , which divides the lake into a western and an eastern basin. In the south these are interconnected. Miminiska Island is located in the eastern basin . In addition to the Albany River, the Troutfly Creek , Keezhik Creek, and Ferguson Creek tributaries feed the lake. Above Miminiska Lake, the Albany River overcomes the Snake Falls , and downstream is the Miminiska Falls . This is where the Petawanga Lake joins.
Miminiska Lake is a remote fishing area and is usually reached by seaplane. Mainly glass ey perch and pike are caught in the lake .
