The Wabigoon River is a left tributary of the English River in the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Wabigoon River has its origin in Raleigh Lake at a height of 453 m . It leaves this on its north bank and flows in a predominantly westerly direction to the lakes Dinorwic Lake and Wabigoon Lake . The two lakes form a lake system, the flow of which is regulated. On the north bank, near the town of Dryden , the Wabigoon River initially continues north and later west. He takes north of the village Eagle River from left to Eagle River , of the southern Eagle Lake drained to. The river then turns to the northwest. It flows through Clay Lake and several lake-like river widenings. Immediately before its mouth, the Wabigoon River overcomes the Wabigoon Falls . Finally, after 235 km, it reaches Ball Lake, north of Grassy Narrows and traversed by the English River . The Wabigoon River drains an area of 8080 km² in the southwest of the Kenora District .
