Capel Henry Berkeley Reynolds Moreton, 5th Earl of Ducie ( May 16, 1875 - June 17, 1952 ) was a British nobleman and politician who was Earl of Ducie in the House of Lords between 1924 and 1952 .

Life

Capel Moreton was the eighth of ten children and the eldest of two sons of Berkeley Moreton, 4th Earl of Ducie , and his wife Emily Eleanor Kent, whose father was Commissioner of the Crown in Queensland .

After the death of his father on August 7, 1924 he inherited the title of 5th Earl of Ducie and the associated titles of 5th Baron Moreton of Tortworth, in the County of Gloucester, and 8th Baron Ducie of Tortworth, in the County of Gloucester. This also made him a member of the House of Lords, to which he was a member until his death on June 17, 1952.

Since his marriage to Maria Emma Bryant, which was concluded on August 1, 1903, remained childless, his nephew Basil Howard Moreton , a son of his younger brother Algernon Howard Moreton , inherited the title of Earl of Ducie and the associated titles after his death.
