Capela dos Ossos (Faro)

The Capela dos Ossos ( Bones Chapel ) is an ossuary in Faro , Portugal, which belongs to the 18th century Baroque Carmelite church Nossa Senhora do Carmo .

The approximately 4 by 6 meter chapel was built with the bones of more than 1000 monks from the Carmelite order and consecrated in 1816. It is located within the church's cloister garden and consists of 1245 skulls.
