Caracho was an electro punk band from Hamburg. Their trademarks were the blonde wigs and mustaches of their members.

Band history

In 2006 the band was spontaneously founded by singer Sven Lauer, DJ Omo Bewarder and bassist Ivo Vossen as a surprise gag for a party. In 2008 their first album Lass Uns Bambi Spiele was released on the band's own label "oneeyedcharlie" , from which the singles In Hamburg Sagt Man JaJa and Black Cat were extracted. For Black Cat Caracho cooperated with the British duo Right Said Fred , initiated a mud fight video with the British and landed a respectable success in Germany with the song. For live performances, the line-up is supplemented by performance artists.

The trio made a name for itself nationwide with their “Tour Le Dispo” (2008, 2010), a series of concerts in the tradition of flash mobs , which were announced at short notice via the Internet and social networks. They used the entrance rooms of banks in major German cities to draw attention to deficiencies in cultural policy. With the "Caracho Tour Le 3-2-1 The city is mine", Caracho showed its solidarity with the protest movement in Hamburg's Gängeviertel Valentinskamp . At the end of 2010 the line-up on drums changed, Henning Brandt left the band and was replaced by Jan Ole Jönsson. In 2011 the second studio album will be released The hunt begins! which was dominated by breakbeats and guitars. In 2012 the band performed at Hamburg Rock & Wrestling . In 2014 singer Lauer switched to Jupiter Jones . After a break of several years, the band broke up in 2017.

Tour Le Dispo

In the run-up to the release of the album The Hunt Begins , Caracho moved through Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne and Hamburg at the end of October 2010. With their own sound system, the EC counter booths of two large banks in the city center became the scene of a spontaneous live concert before the game continued in a club. Where the tour began was announced the day before via website, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and the newsletter. Her first "Tour Le Dispo" took place in 2008, a second "Tour le 3,2,1 - The city is mine!" (2010) earned Caracho the picture title "Germany's craziest bank band". The “Tour le Dispo” had a political message: “More and more clubs are closing”, Sven Lauer scolded, the cultural situation in Hamburg and other cities was “rapidly falling down the mountain”.
