Carboxylic acid hydrazides

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In chemistry, carboxylic acid hydrazides are a class of organic compounds and can be referred to as hydrazine derivatives of carboxylic acids with the general structure R-CO-NR 1 -NR 2 R 3 , where R 1 , R 2 and R 3 can be organic radicals or hydrogen. The simplest representative is formhydrazide H-CO-NH-NH 2 .

presentation

Carboxylic acid hydrazides can be z. B. by reacting carboxylic acid halides with hydrazine or correspondingly substituted hydrazines or by reducing N -nitroso-carboxamides.

properties

Carboxylic acid hydrazides are stable, polar solids and in some cases pharmacologically active. They also serve as synthesis intermediates, e.g. B. in the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles and carboxylic acid azides .
