Cardio News is a monthly specialist newspaper in newspaper format that is published by the German Society for Cardiology - Heart and Circulatory Research (DGK), of which it acts as the official organ. It is aimed at cardiologists in clinics and practices, cardio surgeons, internists, general practitioners with a focus on cardiovascular systems, diabetologists, neurologists with a focus on strokes, nephrologists and sports medicine specialists.

According to the legal notice there is a cooperation with the working group leading cardiological hospital doctors e. V. ( ALKK ), the Federal Association of Resident Cardiologists (BNK), the German Stroke Society ( DSG ), the German Society for Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, the German Society for Pediatric Cardiology ( DGPK ) and the German Society for Prevention and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases (DGPR). The total number of copies at the beginning of 2006 was 31,600. The journal supplements the CONGRESS-News three times a year, the CME-Compact training journal six times a year with articles on medical Continuous Medical Education ( CME ) and Cardio Compact twice a year with six-month summaries of the new medical studies. Reporting for doctors focuses on topics from health policy and cardiovascular medicine. Rainer Klawki has been the editor-in-chief since December 2001.
