Cardozo , sometimes also known as Cardoso , is a town in Uruguay .

geography

Cardozo is located in the Tacuarembó department in sector 10 of the Río Negro . To the west-southwest is Chamberlain , to the southwest is Paso de los Toros . The place is located on the delta (Brazo del Cardozo) of the Arroyo Cardozo , to the south is the dammed Río Negro . Topographical elevations in the vicinity are immediately in the south of the Cerro Arbolito , and in the east of the Cerro de las Yeguas . In the north Cardozo borders on the confluence of the del Buey in the Arroyo Cardozo cone, while south of the place the del Arbolito flows into it. The Arroyo Pantanoso and Arroyo Cacique Chico also arise a few kilometers east of the village .

Residents

At the 2011 Census, the population of Cardozo was 42, of which 22 were male and 20 were female. This continues the downward trend in the number of inhabitants since the 1963 census, when 150 people were still counted in the village.
