Carisius

Carisius was the name of a Roman family who lived in the second half of the 1st century BC. Is attested by only two known members. Titus Carisius acted around 45 BC. BC under Caesar as mint master . Publius Carisius led in 25 BC As a general of Augustus war against the Asturians , took their city Lancia (20 km from León ) and suppressed 22 BC. A rebellion of the subjugated Spanish tribe.

Numerous bearers of the nomen gentile Carisius are attested in inscriptions during the imperial period , but none of them belonged to the senatorial class. Eques was the Marcus Carisius Sex military tribune in Augustan times . f. Alpinus.
