Carl-Friedrich Zschucke (* 1938 ) is a German doctor and numismatist .

Life

In addition to his job as an internist in Cologne , Zschucke is a coin collector and has specialized in Roman coinage in Germany. In doing so, Zschucke misses catalog works that specifically address the Roman mints of Cologne and Trier . Since The Roman Imperial Coinage for the Roman mint in Trier is incomplete and does not adequately depict its diversity, Zschucke tries to close these gaps with his writings. Zschuckes works provide collectors and historians with the most complete reference works to date for the Roman mints in Cologne and Trier and enable researchers to gain new insights into the sequence of issues, money in circulation and the activities of both mints.

After the death of the collector Dieter Alten, who also specialized in the Roman Trier, Zschucke acquired and completed his work on the Roman coin series Beata Tranquillitas and donated the special collection of 875 coins belonging to the book to the Münzkabinett Berlin . In 2010 he also gave the cabinet his special collection for the Trier bronze pieces.
