The Carl-von-Linde-Realschule is a secondary school in Munich . The Bavarian capital is responsible for the sponsorship.

location

The Carl-von-Linde-Realschule is located near Theresienwiese , Schwanthalerhöhe and Heimeranplatz on the western edge of the center of Munich - the Westend. The middle school on Ridlerstraße , with which the Carl-von-Linde-Realschule also shares the auditorium, is located in the immediate vicinity or on the same site .

Naming

The Carl-von-Linde-Realschule is named after the engineer, entrepreneur and inventor Carl von Linde . He discovered the process of liquefying air, which made it possible to build the first refrigerators.

building

The school is located in a building that already served as a hospital during the First World War and was originally designed as such. It is a listed building. At that time it was on the outskirts of Munich.

The school has several IT rooms and almost all classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards . The sports area has a gym and swimming pool. There is a cafetaria on the ground floor of the main building.

In order to meet the requirements of an all-day school , an improvised cafeteria was set up in a former classroom on the ground floor. The school also has a lunch shop.

The courtyard, which is also used for the schoolchildren's sporting activities, has a small playground in its center and, as a special trademark, an approximately six meter high carillon. The breaks also take place in the courtyard (depending on the weather). The school also has a school garden.

Lessons offered

The Carl-von-Linde-Realschule offers half-day operation as well as open and bound all-day offers. The current 722 students are accommodated in 28 classes (as of March 2020). At the beginning of the seventh grade, the pupils are taught - as is customary at Bavarian secondary schools - in the following training focuses:

  • Mathematics (branch I)
  • Business Administration (Branch II)
  • Art education (branch IIIb)

French (as a second foreign language - branch IIIa) is not offered at the Carl-von-Linde-Realschule.

Furthermore, there are numerous working groups (AGs) that can be selected by the students according to their individual inclination at the beginning of the school year.

particularities

The so-called “International Classes” are a special offer. The “International Classes” accommodate pupils who do not speak German as their mother tongue and who have often only recently come to Germany from different regions of the world. This offer should contribute to the promotion and integration of students with a migration background.
