Carl Dietz (actor)

Carl Dietz ( 1804 in Magdeburg - December 5, 1867 in Prague ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Dietz first stepped onto the stage in Braunschweig as "Franz" in Vetter from Bremen , then was engaged in several small theaters, came to Graz as the first lover in 1833, from where he was hired to Prague a year later on the recommendation of Ludwig Löwe . He had to compete with the extremely popular Karl Wilhelm Fischer and initially had to do everything to get a position. The artist worked at the Prague State Theater for a full 30 years . On February 23, 1864, he said goodbye as "house friend Schmerl" when he was of age . Dietz fell ill shortly after he retired and died in Prague in 1867.

His daughter Anna Dietz also became a stage actress.
