Carl Door , actually Carl Doktor , (born May 31, 1860 in Prague , † after 1934 ) was a German theater actor and director .

Life

His inclination was particularly nourished by the example of his brother Max Door . The same was sympathetic to his brother's purpose and promoted this plan. Without having enjoyed dramatic lessons, Door began his stage career. From 1885 to 1886 he worked in Aachen, from 1886 to 1887 in Amsterdam, from 1887 to 1888 in Metz, from 1889 to 1891 in Bremen and from 1891 to 1898 in Hamburg, from where he was committed to the Josefstädter Theater. There he worked primarily as a director of the comedy.

In the first decade of the 20th century, he continued his career as a play and theater director continued in the imperial province, including as director of the summer theater Bad Ischl , just before the First World War, he is in the Czech Budweis detectable. In 1926 he directed the Femina-Theater and the Favoritner Volksbühne in Vienna. In 1934 he appeared as a theater agent.

His brother was the actor Max Door .
