Carl Falck (manager)

Carl Wilhelm Andreas Falck (born May 27, 1907 in Tønsberg , † July 23, 2016 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian manager .

Life

Falck was born in 1907. His father was a bookseller . In 1931 he received his master's degree in law from the University of Oslo . He then worked as a lawyer in the police service and in the Ministry of Social Affairs. After 1939 he worked for various business associations. In 1948 he became managing director of the wholesaler organization Norges Grossist-Forbund. (This was merged with other companies in the Federation of Norwegian Enterprises in 1990). In this position and as part of the Marshall Plan , he spent two months in the United States . From 1952 he studied large American industry. In 1969 he published a book about the structural changes in big industry. He was a member of various Norwegian and European bodies. Since 2012 he was the oldest living man in Norway. He lived in his house until 2012, his wife died in 2010. In 2013 the NRK published an article about him Some thoughts from Norway's eldest man (Noen Tank fra Norges eldste Mann). Falck lived in a nursing home in Oslo until his death.
