The Konotopa motorway junction ( Polish : Węzeł autostradowy Konotopa ) is located northwest of the Polish city of Warsaw near the village of Konotopa in the Masovian Voivodeship . It connects the Polish A2 motorway and the S2 and S8 expressways (in future also with the S7 ).
history
The construction of the node took place together with the construction of subsection E of the A2 motorway from Łódź to Warsaw in 2010–2012. The connecting ramps from the A2 to the S8 and from the S8 to the A2 were opened on May 23, 2012 together with a section of the A2 to the Pruszków junction and the S8 section to the Warszawa-Zachód junction (German: Warsaw-West), which served as the provisional end of the S8 in Warsaw from January 19, 2011 to this date. The connections to and from the S2 were opened when the section to the Warszawa-Aleja Krakowska node went into operation on July 31, 2013.
Current status
The following directions are available:
- A2 motorway west to Lodz , Poznan
- Expressways S2 / S7 / S8 in the southeast direction of the southern Warsaw districts as well as to Katowice , Krakow
- Expressways S7 / S8 in the northeast direction of the northern Warsaw districts, Gdansk , Białystok
Others
The knot is constructed in the shape of a triangle . The connecting ramps from the A2 to the S8 in the direction of Białystok and from the S8 from the direction of Białystok to the S2 / S8 are routed over the main carriageway on each bridge structure. In addition, four additional bridges were built to cross and underpass local roads as part of the junction. All connecting ramps are equipped with two lanes.
