On June 9, 1827, the new settlement was named Novoderevyankovskoye ("New Derevyankovskoye", today Stanitsa Novoderewjankowskaya), and the original settlement was renamed Staroderevyankovskoye ("Old Derevyankovskoye"), from the granting of the status of Staniza in 1842 under the today's form of the name.
