The name goes back to the Kazan regiment of the Imperial Russian Army , which was stationed at this point in a redoubt from around 1788 to 1791 . From the second half of the 19th century, Stanitsa belonged to the "department" (otdel) Kawkasski of the Kuban Oblast .

A few kilometers north of the Stanitsa the regional road 03K-002 (formerly R217) passes, which , coming from Temryuk via Krasnodar, crosses the federal highway R217 Kawkas (formerly M29) near Kropotkin and continues to the border with the Stavropol region ; the Stanitsa Tbilisskaja , Kasanskaja, Kropotkin, which are located further to the west , and the Stanitsa Kawkasskaja to the east, are largely bypassed in this area.
