Starowelitschkowskaja ( Russian Старовеличковская ) is a Staniza in the Krasnodar region in Russia with 13,459 inhabitants (14 October 2010).
geography
The place is about 50 km as the crow flies north-northwest of the regional administrative center Krasnodar on the Ponura , which flows about 30 km northwest into an estuary of the Kuban .
Starovelitschkowskaja belongs to the Kalininsky Rajon and is located a good 5 km southeast of its administrative center Kalininskaya . The settlement is the seat and only locality of the rural commune Starovelichkovskoye selskoje posselenije.
history
The place was founded in 1794 as a Cossack spa settlement under the name Velichkowskoje. From the establishment of the Novovelitschkowskoje ("Neu-Welitschkowskoje", today Staniza Novowelitschkowskaja) settlement about 20 km south-southeast in 1823, the settlement was referred to as Starovelitschkowskoje ("Old Velitschkowskoje"), from the status of Staniza in 1842, under the current name. She initially belonged to the Temryuk Department (otdel) of Kuban Oblast .

Near Starovelitschkowskaja, in the direction of the Kalininskaya district center, at route km 94 is the Velichkowka railway station of the Krymskaya - Timashevskaya railway line, which was opened on this section in 1915 and has been electrified since 1987 , part of the extensive western bypass of Krasnodar.
The railway line follows the regional road 03K-015 Timashevsk - Poltavskaya . From this branch between Kalininskaya and Starovelitschkowskaja the 03K-023, which leads through the Stanitsa and on via Novovelitschkowskaja to Novotitarowskaja, branches off.
