Petrovskaya ( Russian Петровская ) is a Staniza in the Krasnodar region in Russia with 13,554 inhabitants (14 October 2010).

geography

The place is about 90 km as the crow flies northwest of the regional administration center Krasnodar in the delta of the Kuban , a few kilometers west of the right arm of the Protoka estuary.

Petrowskaya belongs to the Slavyansky Rajon and is located a good 20 km northwest of its administrative center Slavyansk-na-Kubani . The Stanitsa is the seat of the rural community Petrowskoje selskoje posselenije, which also includes the hamlet (chutor) Wodny (about 8 km east).

history

The place was founded in 1823 as a Cossack spa settlement and received the status of a stanitsa in 1842. The Stanitsa belonged to the department (otdel) Temryuk of the Oblast Kuban , from 1924 to the Slavyansky rajon. From 1934 to 1953 it was the administrative seat of an independent Rajons named after it.

Stanitsa is located on the 03N-432 regional road, which, coming from Slavyansk, continues to the village of Achuevo , about 35 km north-northwest of Petrovskaya, not far from the confluence of the Protoka into the Sea of ​​Azov . In Petrovskaya several other regional roads branch off, the 03N-433 to the western Staniza Tschernojerikowskaja .

The nearest train station is in Slavyansk on the Timashevskaya  - Krymskaya route .
