The Poznań-Zachód motorway junction ( Polish : Węzeł autostradowy Poznań-Zachód ) is located southwest of the Polish town of Głuchowo in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . It connects the Polish A2 motorway , the S11 expressway and, in the future, the S5 expressway .
history
The junction was built in 2011 and 2012 together with the construction of the S11 section between the Poznań -Tarnowo Podgórne and Poznań-Zachód junctions. It took place in a separate task. Strabag was selected as the construction company in a tender. Construction began in March 2011. The construction costs amounted to 42 million zlotys , two thirds of which were borne by the Autostrada Wielkopolska company and one third by GDDKiA . The node was opened on 3 June 2012 and since then has been the western end of the southern bypass of Poznan over the A2 represent.
Current status
The following directions are currently available:
- A2 motorway in a westerly direction to Nowy Tomyśl and on to the border with Germany
- A2 motorway east to Lodz and Warsaw
- S5 expressway south to Leszno and Wroclaw
- Expressway S11 north to the Poznań-Północ junction
Others
The junction was originally just called the Głuchowo motorway junction and was so named because of the nearby town of Głuchowo . In 2012 the name was changed to Poznań-Zachód motorway junction , although the junction is not in the city limits of Poznan , but represents the western end of the Poznań southern bypass. The knot is made up of a double trumpet and consists of two bridge structures.
