The Jordanowo motorway junction ( Polish : Węzeł autostradowy Jordanowo ) is located northeast of the Polish village of Jordanowo in the Lubusz Voivodeship . It connects the Polish A2 motorway (west-east axis) and the S3 expressway (north-south axis) and thus represents an important junction in Poland's road network.
history
The construction of the junction took place between 2009 and 2011 together with the construction of the section of the A2 motorway between the Świecko and Nowy Tomyśl junctions . Strabag was hired as the construction company by the concessionaire Autostrada Wielkopolska . The completion of the node, like that of the entire section, took place by the end of 2011. However, its opening could not take place at the same time as the section, because at that time the section of the S3 was only under construction and therefore no connection to the S3 was possible. Motorists who wanted to use the junction to leave the A2 and continue north or south had to use the Torzym and Trzciel junctions, which are around 30 kilometers away . Originally, the Jordanowo junction was only supposed to open with the section of the S3 between the Międzyrzecz-Południe and Świebodzin-Północ junctions on June 17, 2013. However, the construction work could be accelerated so that the node could be opened to traffic on May 27, 2013. The exit from the A2 is currently only possible in a southerly direction to the Świebodzin- Północ junction. The exit of the A2 in a northerly direction became possible with the handover of the section of the S3 from the Jordanowo junction to the Międzyrzecz-Południe junction on August 21, 2013.

The following directions are currently available:
- A2 motorway in a westerly direction to the border with Germany
- A2 motorway in an easterly direction via Poznan and Lodz to Warsaw
- Expressway S3 north to Międzyrzecz
- Expressway S3 south to Zielona Góra
Others
The knot is made up of a double trumpet and consists of two bridge structures. This was the most cost-effective option, because the knot includes a toll booth between the two trumpets. A total of twelve positions are available at the toll station, nine of which are equipped with machines and are always available. There are four positions for traffic departing from S3 and approaching A2. There are five positions available for traffic in the other direction, exiting A2 and joining S3. The other three positions can be used if necessary.
