Carl Greiner (actor)

Carl Greiner ( February 24, 1859 in Berlin - July 10, 1927 in Zittau ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Greiner, the son of an officer, was initially an apprentice and traveler in a Magdeburg wholesale business at his parents' request. In 1878 he went to a traveling company without ever having taken acting lessons and stepped onto the stage for the first time as a "land judge" in Goldbauer .

In 1879 he was at the Ostend Theater in Berlin, from 1880 to 1883 at the Stadttheater Frankfurt an der Oder , from 1883 to 1885 in Breslau and from 1885 to 1888 in Cologne.

He moved from Cologne to Leipzig, where he played in representative and batch roles in both drama and operetta until at least 1902.

His accomplishments were clean and meticulous and received fair recognition. Worth mentioning are "The old moor" in Robbers , "Burgundy" in Jungfrau von Orleans , "Walther Fürst", "von Senden" in journalists , "Prison Director Frank", "Mourzouk" in Giroflé-Girofla , "Stettendorf" in Goldfische etc.
