Carl Ottens

Carl Ottens (born May 21, 1868 in Gießen ; † 1937 ) was a German manager in the textile industry.

Life

After graduating from high school in Gießen, Carl Ottens studied political economy at the Hessian Ludwig University . In 1888 he became a member of the Corps Starkenburgia . After studying for a few semesters, he completed commercial and technical training. In 1891 he joined Kolb & Schüle AG , a textile company in Kirchheim unter Teck . In 1892 he was granted power of attorney. In 1901 he was appointed sole director. After merging with the flax spinning mill Urach AG , he was general director of the merged company from 1918 to 1937 and was in charge of its overall management.

Ottens was a member of the Reutlingen Chamber of Commerce , a member of the supervisory board of the linen yarn sales company in Berlin and a member of the board of directors of the Association of German Colored Weavers and Head of its Württemberg branch . He was a commercial judge in Stuttgart and a member of the Kirchheim unter Teck city ​​council and the official assembly of the Kirchheim unter Teck district.
