Carl Pauen

Johann Peter Carl Pauen (born April 7, 1859 in Mönchengladbach ; † June 7, 1935 in Bonn ) was a German modern pentathlete .

Career

Carl Pauen was the only German athlete to take part in the modern pentathlon at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm and finished in 28th place. This made Pauen the first German modern pentathlon ever to take part in the Olympic Games.

Personal

Pauen married Maria Schelleckes in Krefeld on February 15, 1908. And finally died in the Bad Godesberg district of Bonn .
