Carl Werckshagen (dramaturge)

Carl Werckshagen (born April 17, 1903 in Berlin ; † January 2001 in Bad Pyrmont ) was a German dramaturge, writer and translator.

Life

Werckshagen made its debut in Magdeburg in 1926. Continuously engaged as a dramaturge at German companies until 1945. After World War II, he last worked at the Städtische Bühnen in Cologne in 1951/52. Then until his retirement in 1964 he was government director in the Berlin Senate for Science and Art.

Since 1924 Werckshagen had a personal acquaintance and an exchange of letters with Gottfried Benn .
