Carlos Abdala (diplomat)
Carlos Abdala (born April 20, 1930 in Montevideo , † June 8, 1976 in Paraguay ) was a Uruguayan politician, diplomat and minister of the Partido Blanco .
Life
Abdala was Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Uruguay from 1972 to July 1973 . He then became the Ambassador of Uruguay in Paraguay. On June 7, 1976, he was shot dead on duty in Asunción by a Yugoslav terrorist from the HRB who mistook him for a Yugoslav diplomat. His son Pablo Abdala also embarked on a political career and was elected to the Uruguayan House of Representatives in 2005 .
