Carlos Bulgheroni
Carlos Alberto Bulgheroni (born March 9, 1945 in Rufino , Santa Fe Province , Argentina ; † September 3, 2016 in the USA) was an Argentine-Italian entrepreneur.
Bulgheroni, son of an Italian father and a Spanish mother, studied at the Universidad de Buenos Aires , where he graduated as a Juris Doctor in 1970 .
He was president of the family company Bridas , which was mainly involved in the energy sector. He was the owner of the Pan American Energy (PAE) oil company , which owns the largest oil field in Argentina. He operated internationally with various energy projects, especially in South America and Central Asia. In 2010 he sold 50% of Bridas to the Chinese energy company CNOOC .
Together with his brother Alejandro , he was considered the richest man in Argentina with an estimated fortune of around 4 billion euros. He lived in Buenos Aires and Rome.
He died of cancer in a hospital in the United States.
