Carlos Di Sarli (born January 7, 1903 in Bahía Blanca ; † January 12, 1960 in Olivos , Province of Buenos Aires ; actually Cayetano Di Sarli ), called "El Señor del Tango" , was an Argentine musician ( pianist ), arranger , band leader and composer of tango .

Life

Carlos Di Sarli was the son of Italian immigrants. He studied music with his brother Domingo Di Sarli, who was a professor at the Conservatorio de Música de Buenos Aires founded by Alberto Williams .

Carlos Di Sarli formed his first orchestra in Bahía Blanca as early as 1919. At the age of 17 he moved to Buenos Aires , where he first appeared as a pianist in various cafés and founded his first tango sextet in 1925. At the beginning of the 1930s Carlos Di Sarli separated from this orchestra and went to Rosario in the province of Santa Fe . In 1938 he founded his second tango orchestra, which included the singer Roberto Rufino . In 1956 Carlos Di Sarli formed the tango sextet Los Señores del Tango .

Carlos Di Sarli, whose trademark was dark glasses, was a prolific musician who made over 200 records.
