Carlos Eduardo Muñoz Remolina (born September 8, 1959 in San Luis Potosí , San Luis Potosí ) is a retired Mexican football player whose regular position was in defensive midfield .

Life

Muñoz began his professional career in the 1979/80 season with his hometown club Atlético Potosino , for which he played until 1982. Before the 1982/83 season he moved to the reigning Mexican champions Tigres de la UANL , where he was under contract until the end of his active career in the 1994/95 season.

National team

Carlos Muñoz made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on October 25, 1983, when El Salvador was defeated 5-0. His last international match was on July 7, 1991 against Costa Rica. The game for third place in the 1991 CONCACAF Gold Cup was won by Mexico with 2.0.

Muñoz scored his two international goals on October 31, 1984 against Uruguay (1: 1) and on January 17, 1990, when the feared opponent Argentina was defeated 2-0.

The highlight of his international playing career was his participation in the 1986 World Cup , which was held in his own country , in which he played four full-length games for the hosts and was only absent in the last group game against Iraq (1-0).
