Carlos Watzka

Carlos Watzka (born March 8, 1975 in Leoben ) is an Austrian sociologist and works as a social and medical historian at the University of Graz , the University of Eichstätt and the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences .

Life

After attending grammar school in Leoben, Carlos Watzka began studying sociology and history at the University of Graz in 1993, which he completed in 2000 with a master's degree. This was followed by a doctoral degree in social and economic sciences in Graz and a dissertation on the social and cultural history of mental illness in the early modern period . He graduated with distinction in 2004. In 2008 he qualified as a professor in sociology. From 2009 to 2013 he was professor for sociology and empirical social research at the University of Eichstätt.
