The Carlsburg is a listed building in Bad Laasphe since 1986 . Your house number Friedrichshütte 16 is also used synonymously for the building.

history

Starting in 1845, the building ensemble was built over a nine-year construction period on the remains of an old knight's tavern for Baron Carl von Wittgenstein. It then served as the residence of the Barons von Wittgenstein. The Friedrichshütte , which was run by the von Wittgenstein family, is located near the Carlsburg .

Building

The building impresses with a mixture of classic and historicizing elements. Part of the middle part of the building protrudes like a choir of a church. The Carlsburg is characterized by a hipped roof , arched windows and a spacious entrance hall .

The main and ancillary buildings have been entered in the list of monuments of the city of Bad Laasphe under the numbers 70 and 71 since November 20th . In June 2016, Carlsburg was named Monument of the Month in the South Westphalia area by the NRW Historical Center .
