Carmelo F. Lazatin (born June 28, 1934 in Angeles City ) is a Filipino politician .

biography

After schooling, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Santo Tomas and graduated in 1954 with the graduation from. He later joined the family business Heirs of Trinidad Lazatin Inc., of which he was president from 1967 to 1980. As an entrepreneur , he has also been President and General Manager of Mabuhay Consolidated Corporation since 1976. Between 1986 and 1987 he was also the director and general manager of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.

Lazatin was a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines (Kapulungán ng mgá Kinatawán ng Pilipinas or Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso) between 1987 and 1998 . From 2001 to 2007 he was mayor (Mayor) of Angeles City.

Since 2007 he has been a member of the House of Representatives. As a member of the Lakas-CMD (Lakas-Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino-Christian Muslim Democrats) he represents the constituency I (1st District) of the Pampanga Province .

In the current 14th Congress , he is Deputy Chairman of the Committees for Fundamentals, Gambling and Amusement, and the Millennium Development Goals. Lazatin is also involved in school politics and has been Vice President and Vice Treasurer of the Republic Central Colleges since 1966 .
