Carmen is a city in Uruguay .

geography

It is located in the Durazno department in sectors 4 and 10 . It is located in the Cuchilla de la Mariscala northwest of Sarandí del Yí and northeast of Durazno , with which it is connected via Route 14 . The distance to the department capital is around 50 kilometers.

history

On July 4, 1908, Carmen was granted Pueblo status by Law No. 3.305 .
