Carmen Ibáñez
Carmen Ibáñez Soto (born February 7, 1959 ) is a Chilean journalist and politician.
The daughter of the politician Arturo Ibáñez Ceza studied social communication. She then worked as director of communications at Radio Agricultura and was a contributor to La Red television and Cosas magazine . From 2001 to 2005 she was a member of the Congreso Nacional as a representative of the Alianza por Chile . She also ran for the 2005 and 2009 elections, but was unsuccessful. From 2010 to 2013 she lived as Ambassador of Chile in Athens. She has been a member of the Partido Renovación Nacional since the end of 2013 .
Ibáñez was married to the politician Jorge Domingo Godoy Matte in his first marriage and lives in the second marriage to Iván Moreira Barros , the longtime mayor of La Cisterna . Her son Joaquín Godoy Ibáñez also embarked on a career as a politician.
