Caro Island is an island off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It belongs to the Rauer Islands and is located northeast of Hornsby Island .

Australian scientists named it in 2012 after the physicist David Edmund Caro (1922–2011), who provided important food for thought for the Australian Antarctic program.
