Carolina Werner (born March 2, 1994 in Kiel ) is a German sailor. She has been sailing in the mixed class of the Nacra 17 with her helmsman Paul Kohlhoff since 2013 . She starts for the Kiel Yacht Club .

Career

Your sailing career began in the boat class to the Teeny -Gremsmühlen Malente at the sailing club. In 2009 she switched to the 29er sailing class , came to the Kiel Yacht Club and met her current sailing partner, Paul Kohlhoff . In 2013 they switched to the Olympic mixed class Nacra 17 together .

In 2014, the team took 1st place among the juniors at the European Championships in La Grande-Motte, France. In the same year they reached a 2nd place at the World Cup in Weymouth, UK.

In 2015 the team reached 8th place at the European Championships in Barcelona and 5th place at the World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. In the junior ranking, the team was 1st in both regattas. At a test event for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2015, the team took 4th place.

At the Sailing Worldcup in Weymouth, the team won the silver medal in 2016 and thus the first medal at a high-level event. Carolina Werner and Paul Kohlhoff were part of the German team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In the overall result, they took 13th place with 112 points.

Carolina Werner is a student in Kiel.
