Carolyn Jessop

Carolyn Jessop (born January 1, 1968 in Hildale , Utah ) is a former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS) and is an author.

She is known for her autobiography Prisoners in the Name of God (in the original Escape ), in which she and Laura Palmer describe their life in and their escape from the polygyny sect. The book was on the New York Times bestseller list for nonfiction for 10 weeks until June 15, 2008 . She is the cousin by marriage of Flora Jessop, who was also a former member of the FDLS and is now known as a child abuse activist.
