The Carroll rock is a cliff rocks in the archipelago of Heard Island and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located about 100 m north of the mouth of the Challenger Glacier in Corinthian Bay off the north coast of the island of Heard .
The rock is named after A. T. Carroll, weather observer of a 1948 campaign to Heard Island as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
