Casa Museo Lope de Vega is a museum in the museums triangle of the Triángulo del Arte in downtown Madrid .

history

The Real Academia Española received the patronage of the Cabrejos García Foundation in 1931 , from the owners of the house in which the Spanish poet Félix Lope de Vega spent the last 25 years until his death in 1635.

After a partial renovation, the building was declared a Monumento Nacional in 1935 and opened to the public. Another restoration took place between 1973 and 1975. The renovation of the facade was carried out in 1990 and 1992 by the Madrid City Council, which also owns the building.

The museum has the main works, studies and manuscripts of Lope de Vega. The furnishings from the last years of his life are in the style of the “Golden Age” ( Spanish Siglo de Oro ).

The museum is only possible after registration and in company. Admission is free. The tours for a maximum of 10 people last around 45 minutes.
