Casal Imbert (also Casale Huberti de Paci , Casale Lamberti , Latin: Castellum Ziph , Arabic: az-Zib (الزيب)) is the ruin of a crusader castle in Achsiv , in today's Israel.
The castle is on the Mediterranean coast, about 15 km north of Acre . It was built around 1123 by the Crusaders of the Kingdom of Jerusalem to secure Acre against Tire , which was then still Saracen . After Tire had been conquered in 1124, the castle lost its importance.
At the beginning of the 13th century, the castle came into the possession of the Teutonic Order . In May 1232 the troops of the imperial governor Richard Filangieri won a victory against the rebellious barons under Johann von Ibelin ( see Lombard War ).
