Casapueblo

Casapueblo ( sp . House of the People / Village) is the house of the famous Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró . The house also includes a museum, an art gallery, a hotel and a restaurant. The entire building complex is designed in the style of Greek island villages and its cascade of buildings is somewhat reminiscent of Santorini . It is located near Punta del Este in Punta Ballena , Uruguay .

The house pays homage to Carlitos Paéz, the artist's son, who, at the age of 18, survived two months in the snow of the Andes together with 15 other fellow sufferers after the crash of Uruguayan Air Force 571 on October 13, 1972 .
