Casey Legler

Casey Legler (born April 26, 1977 in Fréjus , Var département , southern France ) is a French-American writer, restaurateur, model and former Olympic swimmer.

life and career

She attended school in France and America and began competitive swimming at the age of 13.

In 1996 Legler took part in the Summer Olympics at the age of 19 , where, after breaking the world record in training the day before, she finished 29th in the women's 50-meter freestyle event and in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay -Event of women took 10th place. She gave up swimming two years later and then studied architecture, received a scholarship to study law and began studying medicine. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated from Smith College with honors before moving to New York to focus on an artistic career.

In 2012, through a bond made by her friend, photographer Cass Bird , Legler became the first woman to be signed to Ford Models to model exclusively in men's clothing. Although Legler is no longer employed full-time, she continues to model in men's clothing in her free time. Photos of her have been published in Vogue, Le Monde and Time. 

Legler's first book, Godspeed: A Memoir , was published on July 10, 2018 and is published by Simon & Schuster .
