The wristwatches in the Wave Ceptor product line from Casio consist exclusively of radio- controlled clocks , some of which are displayed digitally , some in analog , and some in both ways. With the introduction of the WV-100D in 2004, Casio positioned itself on the radio clock market. Clocks sold in continental Europe mostly receive the DCF77 time signal from Mainflingen near Frankfurt am Main . Newer models (from 2006) such as B. the WV-200DE can also receive time signals from other stations, such as the Japanese JJY or the American WWV , which can be searched for automatically by the watch or selected explicitly.

Increasingly, models equipped with a solar module are being offered in which the button cell no longer has to be (practically) replaced despite the relatively high power consumption due to the frequent radio signal reception. These include, for example, the LCW-M models, which have been sold under the name Lineage since 2011. In the solar models , this is a small battery that draws excess energy from the solar cells. The energy of the fully charged battery corresponds to a running time of about 6 months in the dark.
