The container ship type Cassens CW 700 was built in a series of nine units.

details

The CW 700 series from the Emden Cassens shipyard was built between 2005 and 2008 for various German shipping companies. The ships are designed as multi-purpose dry cargo ships. They are mainly used in container transport. The capacity is 712 TEU, of which 467 TEU can be stowed on deck and 245 TEU in the three holds. Transporting up to 424 TEU is possible with a homogeneous load with 14-tonne 20-foot containers. The first three ships in the series have two cranes with a lifting capacity of 40 tons.

The ships are powered by a MaK four-stroke diesel engine of the type 8 M43 C with an output of 7200 kW. The engine drives a shaft generator and the controllable pitch propeller and enables a speed of 18 knots. There are also two auxiliary diesels and an emergency diesel generator available. The berthing and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster .

There are 18 individual chambers to accommodate the crew.

It is worth mentioning the fate of the last ship in the series, the Paritas-H . The ship, which originally cost 17.8 million euros, was not accepted by the Hinsch shipping company in the course of the financial crisis from 2007 onwards . The ship was at the shipyard until April 2010 and was offered at a price between twelve and thirteen million euros. At the end of April 2010, the ship was sold to the Portuguese shipping company Empresa de Navegação Madeirense and started sailing as Funchalense 5 after installing cranes .
