The Castello De Sterlich-Aliprandi is a hilltop castle above the village of Nocciano in the province of Pescara . It belongs to the municipality of Nocciano and was restored in 1993. Today the Museo delle Arti (Eng .: art museum) is housed there.
history
The castle between the valleys of the Cigno , Pescara and Nora was built around the year 1000. The core is the large, polygonal tower, which was gradually integrated into the current building.
The history of the castle is closely linked to that of the De Sterlich-Aliprandi family, who lived in Nocciano from the 15th or 16th century. She remained the owner until the middle of the 20th century and had the appearance of the defensive structure changed to that of a noble residence.
description
The castle has an irregular floor plan that resembles a double "L". The castle is accessed via a long ramp that leads to the main entrance, over which a round arch towers. When you enter, you find yourself in a paved courtyard that is open on one side to the garden.
The main floor shows a loggia made up of three arcades and another loggia with eight arcades on the outside.
