Castillo de Montemayor del Río
The Castillo de Montemayor del Río (also known as Castillo de San Vicente ) is a castle in Montemayor del Río , a municipality in the province of Salamanca in the autonomous region of Castile and León ( Spain ), which was built in the 14th and 15th centuries. history
The castle originally had two fences and four corner towers, two of which are still preserved. The battlements are still preserved on the walls and the gate is flanked by two defensive towers.
After twenty years of renovation, the castle was reopened on June 13, 2009 and now houses the Centro de Interpretación del Medievo (Museum of the Middle Ages).
