Castillo de San Miguel (Almuñécar)
The Castillo de San Miguel is a castle in Almuñécar , a Spanish city in the autonomous region of Andalusia , which has its origins in the 8th century. The castle has been a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 1949 .
history
After the recapture from the Moors in 1489, the castle was expanded in the 16th century. Of the former four mighty round towers, three are still preserved. The inner courtyard of the castle has long served as a cemetery.
