Keisha Castle-Hughes (born March 24, 1990 in Donnybrook , Western Australia ) is a New Zealand actress .

Life

Keisha Castle-Hughes is the daughter of an Australian and a New Zealand Māori . She has lived in New Zealand since she was four.

Castle-Hughes gave birth to a daughter on April 25, 2007, aged 17. Father is her longtime partner, Bradley Hull, who is two years older.

Career

On January 27, 2004, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for the role of Paikea in Niki Caro's feature film Whale Rider, the youngest actress at the time , and in the same year she starred in Prince 's music video of Cinnemon Girl . In 2005 she played the role of Queen Apailana of Naboo in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith . In 2006 she stood as Mary, the mother of Jesus, in It came to pass but at the time ... in front of the camera.

After the birth of their daughter, Castle-Hughes worked again with Niki Caro on The Vintner's Luck (2009). In the fantasy drama, she can be seen as the wife of a French winemaker (played by Jérémie Renier ). From 2015 she played in the role of Obara Sand in the television series Game of Thrones .
