Catalina Pérez Jaramillo (born November 8, 1994 ) is a Colombian - American soccer goalkeeper .

Career

At the age of four, Pérez moved with her parents from Bogotá to Boca Raton and played in the junior women's division for teams from the local team Boca Soccer Club, during her studies at the University of Miami since 2013 for the Miami Hurricanes team . Pérez missed the 2014 season due to a torn cruciate ligament.

National team

As a fifteen-year-old, Pérez took part with the Colombian team in the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany. She took part in the preparation for the 2011 Women's World Cup and the 2012 Summer Olympics , but was ultimately not in the Colombian squad for the respective finals.

On March 8, 2014, she finally made her debut against Venezuela's selection in the Colombian senior team and was appointed to the squad for the 2015 Women's World Cup by national coach Fabián Taborda . There Pérez was used in the round of 16 against the United States , as the previous goalkeeper Sandra Sepúlveda was suspended for a game after two yellow cards in the preliminary round. Shortly after the second half kicked off, Pérez was sent off the field after an emergency brake against US striker Alex Morgan .
